Community Roots Workshops
Regenerative Growing
Join us over the next 3 years as we dive deep into learning about growing food using regenerative methods. Regenerative growing focuses on natural methods that use the wisdom of nature to build a vibrant and resilient garden or farm ecosystem. Over time this method can also save you both time and money, while creating amazing soil fertility.
This workshop series will cover multiple regenerative methods including no-till growing, using different types of mulches, layering natural materials, creating natural fertilizers, welcoming pollinators, using water wisely, building a food forest, and many more.
We'll be visiting local farms and welcoming many speakers from our region who have experience with these methods.

Local Food All Year
Eating local foods is one of the best ways to contribute to a more sustainable and resilient food system. But in our climate, this can seem like a tough thing to achieve in the cold season.
This winter, let us help you learn how to eat locally as much as possible! Even during the coldest months, you can eat foods that you’ve grown yourself or bought from a grower in our region. With a bit of planning and know-how, you can continue to access these foods for the whole year.
We will be tapping into the expertise of people in our own community to lead our workshops! This winter, you can learn how to preserve food by bottling, drying, freezing, or fermenting it. You can learn to grow sprouts and microgreens in your kitchen all year. You can learn about harvesting and using chaga. We are offering all these workshop topics, and more!
