Ambassador Positions

  • The meeting coordinator organizes and chairs all meetings of the group. This includes planning the time, date, and venue, planning the agenda, chairing the meetings, and ensuring that notes are taken, distributed and then saved.

  • The water coordinator creates a watering schedule for the group, to ensure the garden is regularly and properly watered. This also includes monitoring the plants to ensure adequate water supply, understanding how much water plants need, and communicating to the group about the garden’s water needs. The water coordinator also monitors the amount of water in the water tank, and fills it as needed.

  • The materials coordinator ensures the shed, tools, composters, data monitoring system, and other infrastructure are well maintained and tidy. They monitor and maintain the compost bins regularly, understand how they work, and coordinate harvesting of finished compost for use in the greenhouse. They ensure all tools are well maintained, cleaned and put away properly. They’re responsible for paying attention to the data system in the greenhouse that monitors humidity, heat, and other information, and troubleshooting any issues that arise.

  • The garden coordinator coordinates the designing and planning of the garden. They lead the discussion on what the group will plant and how it will be planted. They’re responsible for ensuring the garden is maintained well, including creating a plan for the group to fertilize, weed, prune, harvest, etc.

  • The communications coordinator ensures that there is regular clear communication within the group, and with WEC staff. They coordinate a communication channel for the group. They make sure everyone has access to gardening schedules and information about upcoming events and workshops, communicate updates regularly to WEC staff, help resolve any conflicts that arise, and help do research and find answers to gardening questions as needed.
