It's never too early to start planning for the spring growing season! Join us on Monday, January 29th at 6:00 pm at the Centre for Research and Innovation to upgrade your gardening and foraging skills by taking a dive with us into our Botany for Beginners Workshop. Cost is $5 or free for Western Environment Centre members ($15/year). RSVP required to info@wecnl.ca
Botany is the study of patterns in plants. Learning the basics of botany can help you with plant identification and deepen your understanding of their extraordinary structures & life cycles.
This will be a fun and interactive workshop, led by Megan Holdfast, homesteader and artist. Megan will guide us through a basic introduction to understanding different aspects of plants, which will give you a great foundation for many important food skills. Join us in learning these basics, plus lots of time for questions and discussion:
Plant anatomy & evolution
Plant names & families
Hands-on flowering plant profiling
