Humber Valley Fruit Rescue Project
You've seen the apple trees groaning under the weight of their fruit, ripening and ready to pick only to fall to the ground to rot. Humber Valley Fruit Rescue Project (HVFRP)
hopes to decrease that waste.

HVFRP is a project started by the Western Environment Centre, dedicated to harvesting and distributing the surplus of urban fruit growing throughout our area.

When a homeowner is inundated by the bounty of their fruit, they can contact HVFRP to organize a team of volunteer pickers. The harvest is split three ways: 1/3 is offered to homeowners, 1/3 is shared among the volunteers, and 1/3 is delivered to local organizations feeding the hungry in our communities or used to raise funds for WEC.

Volunteers are needed!

We're looking for people who have fruit trees, berry plants, or rhubarb they would like to see harvested, as well as those ready to do the work of getting out there to collect this season's yield.  Also, if you are a part of an organization that could use the fresh fruit to feed local community members, get in touch. Please fill out the form below if you can help us out!
